Patricia's card

What did I say... yes this is another birthday card. The priceless set is fabulous. You get such crisp clean lines and the end result is stunning. I particularly love the colour combination of purple and lemon. I use a lot of the stick on gems as they are so pretty and seem to lift images off the page.

Amanda's 21st

I don't know if you feel the same but there seems to be an awful lot of birthdays at this time of year.. I have been making quite a few birthday cards lately...not that I mind as it is a good excuse to disappear into my office for a few hours and while away the time being creative.

Here is a card for my niece Amanda who turned 21 a couple of weeks ago. I used the fabulous Priceless set and got a stunning result , topped off with gems and a ribbon.

Engagement

My best friend's son has just got engaged to a lovely girl, so I wanted to create something special for them. Again using Vintage vogue flowers and a with a bit of distressing of some patterned paper the end result was not too bad. I embossed the back ground with "a french script" of which I stamped several times to cover the card and embosssed with clear embossing powder so as not to detract from the raised images
Sorry it is a bit hard to photograph. You can catch a glimpse of it in the 2nd photo.. I think that it turned out ok and I know Tina really loved it.

Happy Birthday Mum

I am getting into a little bit of experimenting. My recent craze at the moment is to emboss things. I love the effect this has when you mix it with regular stamping.

Here is a card I made my Mum for her birthday. I distressed the card with coloured chalk to give it the antique look. I used a roller stamp from stampin up to do the bottom edge using versamark and then embossed with black on the chocolate brown card to make it pop out. The flowers are from the vintage vogue collection. [This is such a versatile stampin set ] all topped off with a pretty ribbon.

Quilting

One of my other loves is quilting, though scrapbooking and stamping have taken over my life, and I don't seem to have enough time to continue with quilting. Still I am not worried as I started quilting some 30 years [shhhhh...] ago and have periods of time when I have not completed anything for a considerable period of time, I know that when I am ready I will get out the scissors and sewing machine and start again.
Here are a few quilts that I particularly loved at the local quilt show last year. It is getting to be time for this show again...aptly called Calico Christmas

More medallion

See what I mean......... here is a collection of a few more cards using the medallion. It is so versatile that even when you split the image up it looks good.
I even used it inside the card using silver ink and the end result was amazing

Medallion

This is such a versatile stamp. Add it to your scrapbooking pages or to a card. Use the whole stamp or just parts of it. I love it! I have used it so many times and never tire of it.

One of my favourite things

I absolutely love old fashioned roses. Though I don't have much room for them in my garden, I pulled out some old stuff and managed to squeeze in five of my favourite. I have Dublin Bay, Old Port,Mary Rose, Anniversary(from my mum) and Graham Thomas. They are just starting to flower again and I can't wait. Here are some pictures of last years pickings and an exmple of things to come

For my Sister

As I had so much fun with the trifold card I made another one for my sister's birthday. I think that it turned out well too and again I had lots of fun making it. This time I used up scraps of paper from a Basic Grey collection which is one of my favourite brands for paper

For Donna

My boss came across from Australia to do training with the NZ team. She took us out to do ceramic painting for the afternoon and then we went to the fabulous TriBeCa http://www.tribeca.co.nz/restaurant in Parnell for dinner. It was a lovely day and lots of fun so I made this card to say thank you.

Tri fold card

The tricard is always fun to make. This was my first attempt and I made it for my mum. The papers I used were just bits and pieces left over from scrapbooking. That is the beauty of this card...you don't need very much in the way of paper and if you are clever enough, you'll have some that will co-ordinate together. It started out quite fiddly but with a bit of patience it soon went together. I am really happy with the end result

Not forgotten

You know it is always nice to make a card for someone special, just to say hi. I made this for someone I dont get to see enough of and so that she did not think that I had forgotten her. I thought is turned out as a pretty card

Single stamp cards

I am trying to get my blog up and running again. Here are a few more cards I have made for friends this year. I love the delicacy of the stamp set Pocket Silhouettes. Either using one stamp or multiple on the page can produce a pretty result. Sometimes using the one stamp can produce the most pretty card.

Great Friend

This was so much fun to do. I love distressing the paper and then using the stampin up mat pac to do the "stitching" around the side. The butterfly stamp from the Great Friend set is so delicate but so ornate at the same time. It is so versatile and always looks fabulous on the card . The card idea is sourced from the stampin up catalogue.

Good friends

Good friends is a lovely stamp set to use. I had a session one afternoon and made several variations. This one was for my lovely sister in laws birthday.
