Heritage

These are the last of my husbands family photos that I have in my posession. They have allowed me to express myself in a different way to how I usually scrap and I have really enjoyed it. I am planning to catch up with his elderly aunt to see if there are more that I can add to the family album

I am going to a large craft/scrapbooking show in a few weeks and have booked a couple of classes to learn further techniques in the layering of pages to get some of the sumputous looks that you see all aroound the world.
It really is having the courage to do it and go with your convictions and  I guess that I am still a bit timid...but looking forward to the show immensly

The young grandparents Valerie and Ronald.
The larger 3 flowers are hand made and examples of ones I found on the blog 'What a Beautiful Mess" They are so easy to make and so beautiful. You can make them in any colour to match your layout...give it a go

Pretty in lavender and blue

I fell in love with the colours of this page. It is my favourite page so far, and i am so pleased with how it turned out

Heritage

A young Ron going off to the war at 16years old. He was one of the lucky ones who returned
I used a Tim Holtz mask to  do the background This is a great way to vary a piece of background paper. You can match the colours to your photos and accessories.

This card turned out better than I hoped. The colours are beautiful. I made it for my Mum for Mother's day. I think she'll love its vintage picture and the lace... it might take her back to days gone by and fond memories as a child ..

Happy Birthday sister in law. Andrea is turning 50 this week and I hope that she loves this card as much as I do. I have loved making the cards with retro vintage pictures and adding the fabric and ribbons to give the card  a lift

My neice is  into the vintage stuff too. She is turning 15 this year and loves craft, fabric, lace, notebooks, decoupage type activities. I have encouraged her to go for it as it is a wonderful pass time and hobbie for anyone. I am so excited that the younger generation are getting into this type of thing...

Paper flowers

I have had lots of late nights reading and watching utube video's all about amking paper flowers...there really are some wonderfully talented people out there and too many sites to mention hear. I spent a couple of hours the other day making these flowers and had lots of fun. These are the first lot which has given me the confidence to go a bit further now and start experimenting with inks and paints etc to get the colours to match my scrap booking pages.
One site I came across on my nightly trawls through Utube is http://what-a-beautiful-mess.blogspot.com/. and it is  absolutely beautiful and has super instructions . What an inspiration  to scrapbookers.. all over the world..the pages that Lisa produces are absolutely gorgeous.

After spending enormous amonts of money on   flowers from the scrap booking shops I decided that I had better look for an alternative, as it was getting out of hand what I was spending. I have lots of fun creating these and yesterday purchased a few more punches to vary the style and size. Watch this space..................

Easter cards

What a great opportunity to just scrap. Hubbie is at work all weekend( yes all 4 days of the long weekend) but what a chance to do some scrapping. I purchased this kit from NZ scrapbooking and made these cards up last night. Sooo simple yet beautiful. I have plenty of other images so going to make some more today for Mother's Day and birthdays.Hope you all enjoy the end products

I really love this retro antique look. It seems to be all the thing these days. I remember as a girl collecting similar type images and swapping pictures we did not want for ones to add to a particular collection...we used to call these images "swaps" and they were really a craze...don't know what happened to my collection once I left home though.....

Photo editing

OMG! I found "photobucket "in the wee hours of this morning and have been editing my photos. Hopefully from now on I will have a much better presentation of my photos to add to my blog. It is so easy with photobucket, to crop and edit and then save. You can send files to twitter, facebook and just about anything else.....the possiblities are endless and the things you find late at night when all is quiet...........

Here is the address if you have not heard of it like me

Becky's adventures

Catching those times when your child is starting to crawl is really special. My daughter was a real one for "head down- Bums up" Georgous really

This one is really quite special as it is of Becky with her great Grandfather. She is only just one year old and had learned to walk a few days before this was taken( my sisters wedding)

Here is another one of those pre printed pages that are so much fun to work with. I have add a bit on to make it interesting and fun, and I think it matches the moment of a child in her mothers clothes!!!

Angel Face

I have been working for quite some time on the kids albums. I have to say that when time is short and you want to get something together quickly, pre printed backgrounds help. With a little bit of bling you can create something very individual

Grand ol' days

You will have noticed that there are no names on the pages. I have yet to confirm who they are and will add these once this is confirmed. These two ladies have me stumped...one for Grandma I think!

More of the family tree

Isn't it scary how when you look at ancestors how like you/your kids or hubby actually look like them. My daughter has a strong resesmblance to her great and great great grandmothers. She probably won't like me saying that as all she sees is [old] ladies.

Heritage photos

Well I know that it has been a while but I have been out of the country so much lately that I have not had time to work on the blog...

I have had some set up issues but I think that I am back on track again. I have been working on my husbands family photos as it is a mission of mine this year to get the family tree documented. Here are the first few
